Changing Africa’s narrative by improving the face of hospitality

Entrepreneurship often entails facing numerous challenges and uncertainties. However, driven individuals possess a strong internal motivation that keeps them going, even in difficult times. Such is the most apt description for Gladys Ameh, founder and CEO of Sonderliving Africa.

Sonderliving is a leading Pan-African hospitality and property management firm that provides best-in-class short-let rentals, luxury apartments, and real estate consultancy. They offer modern, comfortable, and well-furnished apartments with the highest
standard of exclusivity in the heart of African cities including Lagos and Accra with a vision to become the leading provider of luxury apartments and short-term rentals in the hospitality industry by continuously improving services, expanding offerings, and providing unparalleled client experiences.

Recounting how she founded Sonderliving Africa, the visionary Ameh said:

Having spent eleven years in the interior design industry leading the team at Brook House Designs International, coupled with my expansive knowledge and passion in real estate and hospitality with proven track record of delivering high-quality projects that meets industry standards, my quest to becoming more propelled me to develop strong leadership and management skills that enabled me to lead multiple talented professionals. This gave me the leverage to be given such a responsibility at Sonderliving Africa

Asked how she transitioned from being a designer to leading Sonderliving Africa, Gladys said:”To be fair, It was easy for me to transition because I’ve spent a lot of time understanding both industries. I know it was the right time to start. After working with several clients in property acquisition and designing, it made me realize the huge potentials of property management in the real estate industry. I love real estate investments and I am interested in ensuring investors like myself derive value from their investments, especially home owners. My goal is to help them achieve their investment objectives by leveraging our structure to generate more revenue streams for them. We have started executing this strategy in Nigeria and Ghana. We intend to extend the opportunity across Africa”.

On what sets Sonderliving Short-let apart from others in the industry, she said Sonderliving Africa homes in Nigeria and Ghana have a peculiar touch to interior designs and state of the heart facilities.

Hear her:” This is personal for us because it’s a place you will call home and we have invested so much in making it as comfortable as it gets. Each design property management project we take on, comes with its brief and creative nuance,
which gives us leverage over others in the industry. Our approach is different, luxurious, urban and well seasoned. We also use same opportunity to change the narrative of short-let apartments in Africa, by providing more services to clients who want a new interior design experience”.

The diligent leader noted that her future goals for Sonderliving Africa is to change the narrative of Africa by improving the face of hospitality.
